LYNNWOOD - The EdCC women's soccer team hosted a pair of NWAC West rivals over the weekend and came away with four points: 3 from a 1-0 win over Bellevue Friday night and one point after a 0-0 tie with Tacoma CC on Saturday.

The Tritons are now 6-1-1 overall on the season and are 4-1-1 in league play, which has the team sitting second behind Everett in the North standings.

Edmonds and Bellevue (3-2-5, 2-2-4) each attempted seven shots on goal Friday but the lone score came in minute 38 when Claudia Brasino took a pass from Olivia Olason and slipped the ball past Bulldog keeper Maggie Alikpala-Wilson.

EdCC would make that score hold up thanks to a tough defensive back line and the Triton keeper tandem of Alecia Longsine and Peyton Pruett who had three and four saves respectively.

Saturday's contest against Tacoma (2-8-1, 1-5-1) was a frustrating one for Edmonds which heavily outshot the Titans. TCC keeper Tona Southworth saved seven shots, however, and many of the Triton's other attempts went just wide or high.

Edmonds faces its last West opponent on Tuesday when the team heads over to Port Angeles to take on the Peninsula Pirates for a 2 pm tilt. PC is 7-1 overall, 5-1 in league. Last year the two teams battled for the NWAC title with Peninsula outlasting Edmonds 2-1.

The Tritons then head to Everett on Saturday for a noon contest that opens up North play.
