Tritons Fall in Four at Pierce

TACOMA -- Edmonds Community College volleyball lost in four sets at Pierce College Tuesday night (23-15, 25-18, 25-19, 25-21). The loss drops EdCC to 0-7 on the year.

The Tritons opened up the first set with a two-point victory, hitting .209. But Edmonds' hitting percentage began to slip from that point on which led to three close losses in sets 2-4.

Edmonds ended up hitting just .057 for the match. Riley Steward led the offense with 12 kills and a .281 hitting percentage. Stewart also had 8 digs. Amelia McArthur was next with 8 kills and 7 digs with Carly Sims adding 6 kills.

Setter Kiani Clissold contributed 18 assists with Carly Reese adding 26 digs. 

The Raiders (4-1) hit .113 Tuesday, paced by 13 kills and 20 digs by Brianna Hardee. Taylor Buell had 10 winners and 18 digs. Brittany Smith added 36 assists in the win.

The Tritons play their first home game of the year this Friday when Lower Columbia pays Seaview Gym a visit. Game time is at 7 p.m.
