Women's Soccer Falls to Everett

LYNNWOOD – The Edmonds CC women’s soccer team were beaten by NWAC No. 3-ranked Everett CC 2-0 Wednesday night at Triton Field. The loss drops EdCC’s record to 9-5-1 overall, 7-5-1 in league play.

The loss snapped a 3-game Triton win streak. Edmonds how holds a 3-point lead over fourth-place Whatcom. Only the top-three teams from each region qualify for the postseason.

Wednesday’s match was a quite one offensively. It wasn’t until the 73rd minute that Everett drew first blood, when Kelsie Neill scored a goal for the Trojans. Neill would score again, in the 87th minute to seal the win for Everett (14-2, 12-1).

Alecia Longsine played 90 minutes in goal for EdCC and registered 9 saves. Her counterpart, Rachel Leupold, had four saves.

Edmonds has just four games remaining in the regular season. On Saturday the Tritons host Shoreline for a North tilt that starts at noon. The Dolphins topped EdCC 5-1 earlier this season.
