box score

LYNNWOOD - The EdCC women's soccer team reached double-figures in wins at Triton Field Wednesday evening after they defeated Green River 2-0. The win pushes EdCC's overall mark to 10-5-2.

With a 8-5-2 league record the third-place Tritons are just three points behind Shoreline in the NWAC North standings with two league games to play. Green River fell to 6-11, 4-11 league.

Edmonds is just four points in front of Whatcom in the standings, however, and needs to hold onto the their position to make the NWAC playoffs.

After a frustrating first half that saw Edmonds fail to finish on at least three solid chances, the Tritons finally broke through at the 63rd minute when Lauren Rodgers took a pass from Olivia Olason and placed the ball into the right side of the Gator net.

Twenty minutes later Riquelle Weaver headed in a corner from Olason to give the Trtions their final goal for the 2-0 finish.

EdCC keeper Alecia Longsine made five saves in the first half before taking the field and giving the net to Peyton Pruett.

Edmonds hosts its final regular season home game this Saturday when they host Whatcom at noon. The game will also feature a Sophomore Day ceremony at halftime.
