EdCC Tops Shoreline to Stay in First

LYNNWOOD - The NWAC No. 6-ranked EdCC Tritons defeated visiting Shoreline 2-0 Saturday at Triton Field. Edmonds (7-6-2, 7-3-1) maintains its hold on first place in the North, one point in front of Whatcom.

The Dolphins drop to 3-9-1, 2-7-1 league with the loss.

The 1-2 scoring tandem of JJ Schmeck and Miguel Medina were at it again for Edmonds Saturday. After a scoreless first half, the Tritons finally broke through when Medina found the Shoreline net at minute 73. The score was Medina's 7th of the season

Schmeck put the game away in the 85th minute with his 11th goal of the year.

The Edmonds defense did the rest, turning back all SCC chances. Goalkeeper Arturo Oberto had three saves to earn the shutout.

The Tritons take a break from league play when they host Trinity Lutheran this Wednesday at 7:15 pm. Then its Whatcom paying Triton Field a visit this Saturday for a huge match that starts at 2:15 pm.
