SHORELINE -- The EdCC men's soccer team edged closer to the top of the NWAC North standings after a 1-0 defeat of Shoreline Wednesday at Twin Ponds Park. The win lifted Edmonds to 5-5-1 overall, 5-2 league.

Just like last Saturday's game at Everett, Wednesday's tilt at SCC came down the the wire. After a scoreless first half and 30 minutes of no goals in the second, Triton JJ Schmeck was able to get the ball in to the Dolphin net.

That goal would be just enough, thanks to a tough EdCC defense. Triton keeper Arturo Oberto has 42 saves and four shut outs to his credit so far in 2014.

The Dolphins are now 2-5-2 overall, 1-4-1 league.

Edmonds will travel to Whatcom on Wednesday, October 8, to take on the first place Orcas. That contest starts at 5:15 pm.
