Tritons Rally to Defeat Green River

EdCC celebrates a win Friday against GRCC
BELLEVUE - The EdCC volleyball team rebounded from two-game deficit to beat Green River 3-2 (12-25, 20-25, 25-18, 25-19, 15-13) Friday morning at the opening game of the Bellevue Crossover.

Things certainly did not look good early on for Edmonds, however. The Gators breezed through the opening set 25-12 and then edged EdCC by five points in the second to take a 2-0 lead in sets.

Edmonds responded with a convincing 25-18 win in set three. The Tritons had an 8-point advantage at one time in the third. Then EdCC set up a winner-take-all fifth set by topping the Gators 25-19 in the fourth -- despite trailing at 11-5.

The Tritons jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the deciding set only to see GRCC rally back to go up 5-4. The two teams traded leads throughout the fifth before Edmonds claimed the 2-point win and the match.

Carly Sims, Delaney Watson and Gabi Mahler all contributed some big kills with Megan Tran and Amelia McArthur providing a lot of key blocks later in the match.
