TC Florentine

Budnick and Becker Also Make All-American Squad

Complete List

Edmonds Community College center fielder TC Florentine was announced as an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) first team All-American, a Gold Glove recipient and the Pacific Association Player of the Year. Florentine's selection as ABCA Pacific Association Player of the Year is the first ever from a member of the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC).

Also earning selections to the ABCA All-American Pacific Association team were Triton sophomores Ryan Budnick and Matt Becker.

Florentine, who has signed to play at Santa Clara University, earned honors as the NWAACC North Region MVP, the NWAACC Player of the Year and he helped the Tritons win the 2014 NWAACC Baseball Championship, the eighth title in the history of the program.

The lefty swinging Florentine hit .341 during his sophomore season, with 49 runs scored, 25 RBI and 13 stolen bases. As a center fielder, Florentine was error-less in 39 games with 81 putouts. The Gold Glove award as an outfielder from the Pacific Association is second straight for Florentine (2013 & 2014). An excellent student, Florentine earned a spot on the NWAACC All-Academic Team.

Ryan Budnick, who has signed with Santa Clara, was named as a second team All-American. The right-handed slugger led EdCC with a .376 batting average with 19 doubles, two triples, six homers and 47 RBI.

Earning a third-team selection was Matt Becker. The lefty hitter and thrower hit .345 with 60 hits, 44 runs scored, 24 RBI and 32 stolen bases. The sophomore outfielder also saw time on the hill and started the NWAACC Championship game. Becker signed with Youngstown State (Ohio).

Congratulations to all three players!
