MOUNT VERNON -- Two goals by Riquelle Weaver and a stingy defense lifted the EdCC women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Skagit Valley Saturday night at Mount Vernon High School.

Edmonds (12-5-2, 10-5-2 league) finish third in the North standings and will travel to East #2-seed Treasure Valley (15-3-3, 12-3-3 league). That NWAC first round tilt will be at 1 pm on Wednesday, November 5. The winner of that contest travels to West #1 seed Peninsula for a quarterfinal match on Saturday, November 8.

Saturday's contest with SVC was moved to Mount Vernon HS due to unplayable field conditions at Cardinal Field. The Tritons, who play on turf, scored both of their goals in the second half. Weaver knocked on in one minute after the second half started and then headed in a corner from Olivia Olason in the 75th minute.

The EdCC defense kept the Cardinals off the board for its 12th shut out and fourth in a row. The Tritons have allowed just 18 goals all season. Keepers Alecia Longsine and Payton Pruett each played 45 minutes in goal.
