Tritons and Dolphins Play to a Scoreless Tie

LYNNWOOD – The EdCC women’s soccer team played visiting Shoreline to a scoreless tie Saturday at Triton Field.

With the draw Edmonds is now 9-5-2 overall on the year, 7-5-2 in league play. The Tritons are third in the North and trail second-place Shoreline (10-5-2, 9-3-2) by six points.

With three games remaining in the regular season EdCC needs to maintain its hold on third place. Anything less would mean that the team would miss the playoffs.

Both offenses were stifled by tough defensive efforts Saturday. The Tritons managed three shots on goal, all of which were stopped by Dolphin keeper Melissa Schuetze, and both SCC shots on goal were turned back by Peyton Pruett.

Paying EdCC a visit this week is Green River at 5 p.m. Wednesday and Whatcom at noon on Saturday. WCC is four points behind Edmonds in the standings, making that tilt especially crucial.
