TUKWILA, WA -- Lexie Gray scored two goals and goalkeeper Peyton Pruett saved 12 shots as EdCC women's soccer defeated Clackamas 3-0 Wednesday at Starfire Sports Complex.

With the triumph the Tritons improved to 2-0 on the 2014 season.

Both sides had chances early on but neither came through until Gray spun in her first goal of the season from 15 yards out in the 35th minute of play.

The Cougars had a golden opportunity to tie the match but hit the crossbar on a penalty kick. Everything else shot at the EdCC goal was saved by Pruett who was making her first collegiate start.

Haylee Longsine made the score 2-0 Edmonds with a point-blank goal off a deflection in the 80th minute. Lauren Rodger got the assist when her shot from 30 yards out careened off the crossbar.

Gray headed in the third goal of the game eight minutes later for the final 3-0 score. Clackamas keepers saved five shots on the day.

The Tritons host Highline CC at Triton Field for a league tilt on Friday, September 5, starting at 5:00 pm.
